Bastille Day - Group Exhibit // July - August 2006
Linda's long-standing passion for her painting is evident in her clever and thought-provoking
collection. Collages and assemblage art, along with pastels and watercolor are among her favorite
media. Her overriding interest in texture is readily apparent and she challenges the art enthusiast to
study each work to uncover the imagery detailed within.
An entrepreneur at heart, Linda is the co-founder of "Escape to the Woods", a creative workshop and
retreat where she teaches pastel, drawing and collage classes. Linda also designs jewelry and greeting
cards for her company, Eikons. Among her clients: Neiman Marcus, Marshall Fields, and Barneys of
New York.
Linda earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Clarke College with an emphasis in Drawing. She is a
signature member of the Iowa Watercolor Society as well as an award winner from the Iowa Artists
Society. Linda has exhibited her works at the Dubuque Museum of Art, the Rocco Buda Gallery and the
Main Gallery & Studio in Dubuque. "I enjoy the challenge of combining collage with paint and
frequently integrate textual and numeric elements within the subject matter. I am guided by the need
for beauty and order on the canvas, and, with the element of surprise, I add hidden symbolism within
each work."
